Two days ago my boss and I had to go to Labor Relations to discuss an upcoming arbitration case. Our facility is 2600 acres and has over 100 buildings, so he drove me there to keep me from getting lost. When we were through I started to walk back since he was going home from there. He asked me if I wanted a ride and I said "no thanks, I don't get to see the sun very often since my boss always keeps me in the dark." I was not surprised at the puzzled look on his face since he doesn't always get my sense of humor.

This morning at 0630 he walked into our department heads office and said" I quit" and walked out and left. No goodbyes or anything. I had no idea just how much in the dark I was!

I wonder if he thought I knew ?:scratchhe

Sounds like a mind fuck. Probably not your fault, as it seems like your boss is harboring some guilty issues. Weird indeed.

Are you a Jedi?

WTF? Burning bridges is right. He's never going to be able to use them as a reference. That just seems dumb, even if your new job is a sure thing. As we all know in this day and age a sure thing could be a bankrupt company next month.

His head was probably so far off some place else I wouldnt worry. Dumb move. I always remember people that do not give notice. Always.

I've dreamt of the day that I hit powerball and dropped a big duece on my bosses' chair as I say 'I Quit :grinFU:'

...but until then it's going to have to be a wimperring 2 week notice.
