Well it is time to say goodbye for a few weeks....

Finals begin on Wednesday and will be over on the 8th of May.... and My brother is getting Married in Jacksonville on the 6th so I get a little break in the middle....

I have off until the 15th and then a May-Mester class begins which is 2.5 hours 5 days a week for 3 weeks, where I will be taking the hardest class in the business school Cost Accounting...

At the end of that I have another week off and then summer school begins where I will be taking my final 4 classes of my college career......

Graduation is August 6th, and I will graduate with my double major in Risk Management and Finance

I really am getting excited, the job oppurtunities look great, challenging and entriguing which is what anybody can ask for....

I mentioned in the NYC thread that there was a possibility that I could be living there in August and that is true, my 3 main jobs (oppurtunities and ones that I want) are all in NYC with 1 there and Chicago, so it is looking like I will be moving to Yankee land....

Right now the 4 companies that I am looking at are: Hewitt, Deloitte, KPMG, and my first choice Mckinsey
The plan is to go into Financial Risk Consulting, and with my RMI degree from the number 2 school in the nation i have a chance at all 4 of the above....

So saying all that I will be in periodically and randomly sending out packages and what not :riflefire .... Don't be scared to email or IM me, I will be around just not posting at the same clip that I have been for the past year and a half...

Thank you all for your thoughts... The next 5 months of my life will be extremely challenging :closedmou and exciting, and I want you all to share in that along with me.... :waving:

Thanks:dance:

Good luck Clay. I'm sure we'll be in touch (stop it ya pervs!), just not as often or how we would like. (Didn't I say to cut that out? :nono: )

Sounds like a good future. Stay flexible and you can go anywhere in finance. I have worked at one time or another with KMPG and Deloitte as a client, both top notch firms. Chicago is a great town but NYC is the great big brass ring. Make your own luck and think about that MBA. They will pay for it.

Yea the MBA is going to happen, but as you said I will let them pay for it.... I am leaning toward Chicago but NYC has the oppurtunities so we will see where I end up....

Let me know if you are looking at places in the area cause I can't afford a place around here without a roommate.

Good luck on the finals, and see you around!

Started with Wells Fargo & Company, the holding company for the bank. Specialized in turnaround and financing risk businesses. Then head of finance working for the Treasurer at Digital Equipment Corporation, then Director of Finance working for the CFO at Philip Morris in NY. Last five years built my own company and then wrapped it into a clean public shell and backed into the public market buying a credit card company and a gift & loyalty card company. Once you understand risk, the rest is easy. Like I said, fantastic career path with many, many avenues.

Yea, when I was a senior in Highschool I had the oppurtunity to go to Pepperdine pretty much on a full ride, but knowing the business that I wanted to get into I decided to go to school 20 miles from home to get the best degree possible....

and yes, an educational understanding of risk only goes so far, it is the experience that you need.... I am looking forward to entering a market that is ever growing and challenging
