Over 2" fell yesterday, and the freakin wind sounded like a freight train. No power for most of the day. Suns shining this am, but there's supposedly more on the way.

News stated that there were close to a million people without power yesterday.
Rumor was 8'-9' feet of powder in the Sierras.

I rained and blew pretty hard last night, but no damage or issues. I heard about the power issues in other parts, but we were cool. Hope everything is over for the rest of you, but more importantly i hope the power doen't go out while i'm watching National Treasure later today.

Very nasty yesterday morning / early afternoon. Heavy rain and wind gusts up to 50+mph.
My back yard was basically a wading pool most of the day.

It's partly sunny now, but the next wave is due later today ... and then again Tuesday.

According to the rain guage, about six inches last night. Howling winds. It helps remind us how lucky we are the other 363 days.

well we needed the rain and we were lucky that for the most in So Calif is was a gentle rain a lot of it I went to Nor Calif last part of the week
I recall the drought of the late 70's and the El nino rains of 80 and 81 with the mudslides in Malibu from the burned off hillsides and clearing the roads
I was in the Calif National Guard and was called out to dig out PCH Pacific Coast Hwy
that runs through Malibu
while it was a lot of rain it could have been a lot worse and I have seen worse in my life time
but I think the news media blew it way out of proportion again
people forget what real weather is like liveing out here in Calif working as a truck driver and haveing been to 43 states I have a lot worse and I will have to say that Most Californicaters are whimps when it comes to weather

STORM WATCH 2008!!!

This is what we get on the news, then it rains and the wind blows a little.

Dude we are such wussies here about weather. When I lived in TX and AL we would have had to walk to school in the rain if it was raining as hard as it did this last time around. The worst part is that everyone thinks they can still drive 85 MPH when it is raining. One thing for sure is that the majority of SOCAL has no clue how to drive in adverse weather.

All the rain kind of makes me grateful I'm in South Carolina for another week and half! It's been raining here but not as bad as CA.
