Caldwell "silent release?" Tradeshow 2015

Background
At the Caldwell event last Friday I received this cigar, I think that it is a prerelease and I over heard Robert Caldwell say they were not going to advertise for "a" cigar "to be released" at the tradeshow. Naturally I suspect that cigar to be this. So here is a review.

I would say 5 3/8 inches by 46 RG
The construction is amazing. Beautiful cap and raisins on the preflight draw. Cut perfectly clean no loose tobacco at all.

Prelight
Extremely pleasant raisin not on the unlit draw, slight tingle on the lips, not sure what to make of the tingle, possibly a cayenne.

Medium bodied, cedar note followed by a light leather. And a mild black pepper on the retrohale. There is a little bitterness, the cigar tastes pretty young. As I am getting farther into the first third, a toasted marshmallow becomes a good description of the flavor. Great smoke production, but it doesn't produce a ton of smoke while sitting. There is a good mouth coating feel. Taste changed to a light burnt cedar.

Pretty complex cigar, liking it a lot. Wish I could buy more haha. At this point that is. Ok so the cedar not is on the decline and there is a black pepper rising slowly. Not overpowering at all though. A nice thick creme is coming in now. I haven't been impressed by a cigar like this in a while. The burn has been good all the way through. Low strength. I am watching that though because I have a feeling the strength may sneak up.

Creme and cedar, I think those two Flavors were producing the toasted marshmallow. Cedar is coming back up slowly. Black pepper is strong on the retrohale, don't do it haha. Slight black pepper has returned on the finish.
Cedar and light black pepper for the nub

Conclusion: 91

This was a damn good cigar. Strength never came up. Flavors were great. Medium to full body would be my final call on it. I would definitely buy 10 of these to smoke in regular rotation. And I would probably be up to age another 10 because I have a feeling they would get even better. I hope this cigar does come out this year, I will be waiting for it.

Smoke time : 55 minutes
