Not sure what you're trying to get at here... why exactly did you spend the time to report this auction and then complain because he called you out? It's not like these cigars are hot items where the guy will be making some big profit. If someone wants these cigars, what's wrong with it? I could understand your thought process if the guy was going to double his money or something, but who is really looking for these cigars on ebay?

Life is too short to be worried about some guy selling Tatuaje P labels on ebay IMO...

It happens ... I'm not against it. If eBay let's it slip through, then more power to the sellers. The only thing I don't care for is when someone sells a box of Dracs for $500 the day after they are released ... that's going too far. But it's a free country, so what can you do.

Good job, Inspector. You should be proud of yourself. Ever heard the term tattletale?

There are probably 500 auctions selling cigar "bands" on eBay right now, you better get busy.

Awww, he edited his auction and took out your name. Please don't tell me you complained about it to him/ebay.

i have no concern for bands being sold on ebay, my concern is my account name being used in defamation. the issue isn't reporting the problem it's how it's handled...after some short research on the issue there has been multiple lawsuits over defamation where the plaintiff won.

god forbid i try to look out for ignorant ebayers buying a lie. i wish there were more helpful people steering away lying, cheating, cigar salesmen. but i guess you guys like the crooked path or are to apathetic to move a cell.

I don't think he was trying to scam buyers, just used a loophole to list cigars on ebay.
i guess i'm not being very clear here...i'm all for selling "bands" or even cigars on ebay, especially rare and vintage ones. we could all use more marketplaces for rare and vintage cigars. but when someone strictly markets a short-filler cigar that is normal production as a "rare, limited, collectible cigar." i think it's bull-turds...so when i call the dude out on it, he slanders my name like i'm the bad guy for calling his auction non-legit. crazy.

We hear what you are saying... you are not understanding what Treinenwj is saying and what the rest of us realize. The seller is not trying to scam anyone by saying they are collectible cigars. Ebay's rules clearly state someone cannot sell tobacco for consumption and that you can only sell them if they are collectible and not to be consumed. Most sellers of cigars state these rules and this guy simply stated they are collectible to make it look like he is abiding by this rule. Simple as that.

This is the first sentence in ebay's tobacco policy:
- The value of the item is the collectible packaging, not the tobacco itself.

Well said. Exactly what I meant, only worded more clearly.

i totally understand this but it seems that it's my point that isn't clearly being viewed...it's ok though we all have different opinions on this site...i just seem to think more honestly than some others.

rare and collectible should mean rare and collectible no matter what policy it stands under.

You are looking out for a victim that doesn't exist. No one is going to get fooled into buying non-limited cigars by this ad. You have stumbled onto a "trick" that most people with some experience in the "internet cigar world" already know about. This is done ALL THE TIME as a way to sell cigars on eBay. As you were told earlier, it is merely clever wording to circumvent the no tobacco rule. Now if you want to grandstand and call yourself more honest than others, feel free. We've tried to tell you what the situation is.

Bands ARE cigars and why do you care..don't buy it..do you think you are being a good samaritan by calling the guy out? Who cares..really.
