OK all I am headed to Cancun with the wife this week and I wanted to ask what have been some of your favorite place to eat in Cancun. We will mostly do diner out only but I might get a lunch in out while having a cigar.

Thanks,

Been several years since my last trip there. I stayed at the Palace Resorts, which were all-inclusive, so all meals were free. Pretty good food, but nothing special.

The absolute best food I remember eating was during our trip to Chichen Itza in the early 90's. We stayed two days at one of the local hotels right near the back entrance. Next door was a restaurant that served the BEST chicken mole' that I've ever had. I'd have to dig through old photo albums to find the name though. There were also some great places on Isla Mujeres + Cozumel.

Best to look for the smaller, family owned places vs. the spring-break watering holes (Senor Frog).

Have a great trip!

The titty bar was awesome. A lot less rules than here in CA.
I will try to go but getting away from the wife on vacation and coming back smelling like stripper ladies is hard to explain

Thanks

Not a food joint...but I highly suggest going to Xcaret (sp?)...spend the extra to swim with dolphins and such. a little bit of a ride...but man that was a cool experience!

We also only went all inclusive. met up with people randomly pool side and their first day the girls husband got real sick and missed half trip. scared us off...wish it would not have though. now that I know more...I would have gone out for more than just the bar! have fun!!!

Well ladies are welcome at the Dassan Harem but if I remember correctly they don't serve food. For food I highly recommend The Puerto Madero for awesome South American Cuisine. The steaks are amazing, the seafood from the grill beyond expectation.

Im headed there next month, but gonna rent a car and drive to spend most of the week in Tulum and around there.
Luke, I loved Tulum, and Coba. If you get a chance, hit up Coba. The admission was 51 pesos last month, and the last time I was at Tulum, it was the same. Very cheap. About $5USD.

the three people I was with on the last trip went swimming in one of the cenotes near Coba as well. they said it was fantastic. I just stood off to the side and shot photographs instead, but will definitely try it out the next time.

There's also an Argentinian steak place on 5th avenue in Playa that I highly recommend. I'd say it's at about 16th to 20th street roughly, and is right on the NW corner of the street. GREAT food the last time I was there.

If ye do not mind the trip, I suggest Tulum, Cozumel, Isla Mujeres and Playa del Carmen as far as touristy places go (that are close). Xel-Ha is another place ye can have a good time at.

Great analogy. It reminds me of a time at the Vancouver aquarium when I had to explain to my 3-year old that the otters weren't fighting. :boxing:
For anyone who's never witnessed otters mating, they can really go at it.

I second Xel-Ha and Ilsa Mujeres. Loved Chichenitza (sp) and Tulum.
