I've tried two of these things now. The first was almost too pledged to smoke and the other was bitter and sour. With a 92 rating I was pretty surprised. Do you guys like these things? Do you even pay attention to C.A. Ratings?

I agree. For example, the flathead is a good cigar and may be rated properly but there is no way they could have blind taste tested it.

Maybe try a different vitola. I've had the box pressed robusto,I think. Very good. The regular robusto, on the other hand was a bit harsh and bitter.

It's been a few years since I ran through a fiver of this cigar but I remember enjoying it.

I've always had good experiences with the box-pressed on these, too. I'd also highly recommend the 50 Years line. I haven't had one in awhile, but they're usually a fine smoke too.

Been a while since I've had one but I remember them as being decent. The 50 years is probably my favorite of the Exodus line though, and the Silver is pretty good too - not quite as strong as the 50 but pretty tasty.

Defs don't trust the reviews but I enjoyed the one I had. Different strokes I guess.

But yeah trusting the ratings system is kinda like trusting the weatherman.

Could be that the first one was back from before Torano sold to general and was making the cigars, and the second is from one of the general factories post sale.

Could be bad luck or the wrong vitola? This is one I've heard very little negative about, though I've never tried it myself.

The only Torano blend I've had was the Fortress from a few years back, and I adored it. Had tones of both chocolate and vanilla. Delectable.

I wish it was still available.

I've had pretty good success with these. Love the 50 year and the silver band with in the perfecto is a pretty solid smoke.

Yep I'm in the same boat. I love the 50 year. The regular 1959 was pretty good too. I think you just had some bad luck there brother.
