Just a thought:

Why don't brands like tatuaje (with no current working site) and Viaje have their limited products documented? As of late, any time I hear these two brands mentioned, it's in relation to a small batch or limited edition two which all the information published on the web is via sites like this. I imagine if all the LE's and shop specific sizes and blends were cataloged somehow on the brands site, it would give the full scope of the brand's portfolio and people new to the brand would better understand what these botique brands are offering cigar smokers that the larger companies aren't. In addition to size/blend info maybe the back-story (i.e. monster, t110, porkchop) to cement the unique nature of the shop specific lines. This would also help collectors and curb some of the bad information I've come across...

It is a great idea... if there was a page on the respective sites listing the limited editions of the past.

Companies don't do it because it isn't really necessary. Their standard production stuff is where the money is and the LE stuff is more for fun and experimentation. I don't think potential customers need to know what LE's they've done specifically, mostly just that they do them.

Most regular cigar smokers aren't interested in cigars that they can only get one box of. They want something that they can buy whenever they want and smoke every day.

As an enthusiast and a fan of these limited smokes, it would be interesting to me.

I agree that it would be convenient, but part of the hype surrounding limited release cigars is the uncertainty...Having to scramble around to determine exactly how many boxes were produced and for which retailer and what the blend consists of stirs up the curiosity and the conversation. The boards and forums start buzzing and the tweets start flying and the interest grows.

It's all great marketing that plays into today’s technology.

Well, Vitolas.net was the best at that sort of thing, in the past....has not been updated in like 2 years though...

It seems to me that the various review blogs and forums (reviews) have taken over this, but all of the info is fragmented in different places...
