Catching up with my brother

I am back in my hometown for my sister's wedding tomorrow, and I spent last night sitting on my parents' porch smoking cigars and drinking a few beers with my brother.

We have been best friends since we were kids growing up in the country where there weren't any other kids that lived near us to play with. Our lives have gone in very different directions the past five years as he stayed home to take over the family farm and I moved on to a job in sports.

We have very different careers, interests and points of view, but we are still best friends. And, we both still know how to enjoy a good cigar and a cold beer. No matter how different we are, I think that is something we'll always have in common.

That is great! My brother and I are distant as well, and we pretty much have nothing in common. I'm really glad that you can enjoy that bond!
