I know I've heard of other boards using some sort of code to show that it's one of them bidding on a box. The only reason I mention this is because today I just got outbid by a member here on the board(on DPG 50ct Preferidos). Now I know the cigars are free game, and I'm sure MNnelson did not know he was bidding against me, but we could all save ourselves money maybe by not bidding against each other. It would have been different if I couldn't tell who outbid me but when the auction winner is MN from College Park it's pretty easy to figure out!

So what do you guys think? Who knows you all might have already talked about this and I just don't know the special code.

Some sort of code would be nice as I'm bidding on some Indian Tabac off color wrapped by kids off the street thirds so I hope nobody outbids me.

I usually check the cbidulator to see if another brother reserved it, I have submitted a couple of my bids on it on stuff I really want, I think it would work great if people used it.

cbidulator accessed from 'Tools' (on my monitor it is in gray toolbar about a third of the screen down from the top of this page)

Yeah I definitely don't have that on my screen. How do I get that to show up?!

Edit: Okay I couldn't see it because of the forum display I was using(coffee). No idea why it wouldn't show but it didn't.

What about a sticky with everyone's cbid names? That way we can check to see if who we are bidding against is on here.
I like the idea but came up with something even better. It seems obvious now that the following is a better solution than Cbidulator.

Everyone now has a Cigarbid Intials profile field in their Profile page of the UserCP. Simply fill out your initials (and location for better results).

Now to find if it's a member here:

1) Access the Advanced Search for the Member List, here: http://www.botl.org/community/forums/memberlist.php?do=search

2) Input the bidders initials into the Cigarbid Initials search field

3) Get the result.

When I get a chance I'd like to streamline this so you could just enter the initials from the Tools dropdown and get the results easily in one step.

Now everyone go put their initials in their profile! Hurry...maybe it'll help me bid less often.... :help:

I added a notice message on the forum home page for members to update the new profile field, if desired, to increase the awareness and usage.
