The wife and I are taking a trip to London for a few days at the end of the month. I've only had 2 CCs but would like to enjoy a couple while there. Can anyone recommend some good shops. I saw there is a Casa del Habanos there. Also what would be some must tries. I have only had an HDM, but don't recall which one, and an RYJ.

Oops just saw this now. If you are anywhere in the main city center getting out to the LCDH will take longer, but is definitely worth it as the owner Ajay is one of the best collectors/retailers in the world. Staying "downtown", I would recommend going to James Fox on St. James street as it's right in the center of it all. It's the oldest cigar shop in London dating back to 1787 and there is a smoking lounge you can use upstairs. They have a lounge chair that they claim Winston Churchill sat in while being a regular customer of the shop back in the day as well as other historic memorabilia. They should have some aged stock available in singles and a good selection of all other cigars. Then just a block down the street is the Davidoff cigar shop so you can walk in and get sticker shock. lol

Also lcdh Teddington would be worth a trip. Be prepared for sticker shock. A single CoRo will run you close to $40 usd
I get the impression that wherever one goes in London they will be paying a premium for the privilege of smoking a CC.

Got back with my smokes. Ended up smoking the Partagas the last night there. Figured I should smoke one given how much I paid on the off chance they got snagged in customs. Don't know the box codes but the Serie D No.5 was good but got a little harsh and had a little ammonia to it the last third. Burned great despite the windy conditions. Gonna try and let the other rest a while. Will try and post pics of of the shop tomorrow.

Glad you made it there okay.... were you able to enjoy a cigar there in the lounge?

And yeah, prices in the UK are not good... I wouldn't ever buy regular production stuff there because costs are crazy high. I would only buy stuff you can't normally find like aged stuff, RE's etc.

No, I didn't get to smoke in their lounge. We did a quick stop in there on the way to Buckingham Palace. Coming back on Sunday sucked with the weather. Connecting flight out of Charlotte was cancelled. Had to fly into Richmond va and drive the rest of the way to MD.
