I'm hoping you guys can help me out. I took an Opus PerfX out of my humidor to smoke the other day. When I removed the cedar wrapping, I noticed a bunch of spots, that almost looks like sap, on the wrapper (see pics). I've searched the site to see if it had been encountered before, but only found threads on mold under a cedar sleeve. I definitely don't think it's mold, and was interested to see if anyone here has run into this before. If so, does it indicate any problems/defects with the cigar? Assuming it's not mold, is there any reason to be concerned about storing it in my humidor, or do I need to segregate it from my other sticks (if I even keep it).

In addition to the spots, the cigar itself is pretty hard and it almost looks like there's some discoloring (whitish color) near the cap. I picked up the cigar through another forum, not a vendor, so I'm not certain of it's previous storage conditions, but all of the other sticks I received in the same order have smoked fine.

Thanks in advance for any help you guys might have.

Not a big issue. A little cedar sap isn't going to hurt your stick. Whitish discoloring? That' could be not so great but without seeing the stick, who knows.

Thanks for the comments guys. I was hoping that it wouldn't be an issue and it sounds like it might not.

CWS, I posted a couple of pics, but I'm new to adding pics to posts, so I'm not sure if you can see them or not. I can see them when I read the post. If you can see them, I'd be interested to see if you noticed the whitish coloring at the cap. I'm pretty positive it isn't mold either, or plume, it's just a little weird.

terran, per the seller, this is a 2007 perfx, and i took the cedar off just a few weeks ago. From an age standpoint, is that a decent amount of time to achieve anything?
