Hi Kevin,
I gave you the short answer on Instagram to your question regarding the DRT, but here is a link on their new site that goes in to detail regarding each certification,
http://tobacconistuniversity.org/certification.php#
The CRT process is:
THE CERTIFIED RETAIL TOBACCONIST (CRT) PROCESS:
All retail tobacconist members of the IPCPR receive free certifications from TU. All other retailers must follow CST payment procedures.
1. Accept the CRT Code of Ethics & Standards and fill out Apprentice Application.
2. You will receive an email when your Apprentice Application is accepted and displayed on the CRT Apprentice webpage; please check it for accuracy.
3. Study online in our Campus or with The Tobacconist Handbook and take the final exam* at your convenience: via a CST or CMT with a Final Exam (free), at the IPCPR tradeshow (free) or via Skype.com (see Campus Store for details).
A 90% score is required to pass the final exam and become a TU Certified Retail Tobacconist (CRT). Once you pass the exam, you will be listed on the TU website as a Certified Tobacconist -- and we will add your listing to the highlight rotation on the TU homepage, above the fold. In addition, you will have access to TU Certified Accoutrements (Lapel Pin, Diploma, and more!), and you will have earned the right to sell R&D Cigars and other TU Certified Products.
* TU recommends CRT Apprentices work at least 500 hours in a retail tobacconist before taking the final exam. A CRT Ap-prentice who does not pass the final exam must wait a minimum of three months before attempting again.
TU Certification is a privilege you earn, but it can be rescinded without notice for any violation of the Code of Ethics & Standards
