Can an old china cabinet made from Cherry be used as a storage cabinet. I know someone who has this and wants to sell. It's beautiful but not Mahagony...Solid dark cherry. Could this be used without effecting cigars?

you could always line it in cedar and turn it into a true humidor....

Cherry is a hardwood that should be fine for storing cigars. That being said - most people do choose to line with Spanish Cedar.

The critical factor is the seal. Do the doors/lid seal tight enough to keep your collection @ 65-70 RH without losing the moisture to the atmosphere.

If the door/lid doesn't seal so well - make sure you figure out in advance how to fix the seal.

Also - if you go that route - how about some pics ---

Good Luck
