I just had Grandpa come by dressed as Santa and knock on the window pointing at the kids while we read a night before christmas and he was telling them to get in bed. My kids were freaking out! My daughter jumped up so fast and sprinted to her bed. My son still can't figure out what the hell just happened. Meanwhile I snuck out and drove my Dad to our friends house so he can go freak his kids out. All presents are accounted now at about midnight I'll be setting up the shit.

I'm ready to turn in - didn't have to build anything this year, but all is ready by the tree with a little note from Santa for my son.

I was torn between the workbench and kitchen set. I do all the cooking since Heather can burn water and James loves to watch me make things so I figured stirring would be better than hammering for my sanity for the time being.

My dad always made my brother build it after we opened it in the morning!

Spent an hour and a half putting together a race track from the Disney movie "Cars" just to find it was missing a crucial piece, grrr. MERRY CHRISTMAS!

We put together a Princes Dream Castle and a Deigo Play set last nigt and had to help get the rest of the gifts under the tree & stockings. Great night!

One of the good things about being old. I got to watch my son put the stuff together for the grandkids and I didn't lift a finger, just provided the caustic comments.

No assembly required this year, but the last three involved me assembling something for one of the GF's kids. Two years back the kids were out late at a Christmas Eve function, and of course we couldn't get them to go to bed. So we finally get them asleep, I start assembling a dollhouse that takes me hours to put together, finally get to sleep around 4:30 and the kids were up before 6, uggghhh. But damn, it is so worth it to see their excitment.

Over all it has ben a great day this year, For most of the older guys can relate. My son is 2 1/2 and my daughter is 5, my two cousins are 4 and 6. 6 adults and the house is a little crazy. over all it was a great Christmas this year, with little ones it can be hell.......but ones that know will know what I speak of......
