Chuck (CWS) told me last year I would need to recarpet my finished basement so my son could be down there. I laughed and told him it was my area. After all, I enjoyed my 25 year old retro carpet.

A couple of months later, the boss decided to recarpet.

All was well since we went with berber and I thought that might deter little knees crawling around in my area since I told Chuck that he would never invade my space!...Cuz ya know I don't want him messing with this!

Well, for the past 2 weeks, I have spent all my spare time converting the extra bedroom downstairs in my finished basement, into this:

Now that I am done removing all the guest furniture and storing it, replacing every ceiling tile in there, painting the walls, replacing the outlets and light swtiches cuz God knows they have to match the paint, having carpet laid, putting together a TV cart, putting together a bookcase, running satellite and DVD into the room, and hanging the gate, I think I will watch some football.

Oh, and Chuck...if you have any stock tips, let me know.

Two more things: Picure #1 the small cage, that is not for the baby is it? Picture #1, the Makers Mark and Coke, it is awfully early to be nipping the bottle.

The first picture is old and the crate is from when we were crate training our dog. Although...your idea has crossed my mind.

As for the second question, I will have to reread it cuz I just ran to get another beer and can't remember what it was.

 Too funny David. We have two dogs and those cages work well to lock up at night and when we leave the house.

Where is the poker table?

"If we do not learn from history, we are doomed to repeat it"

Long, long ago Mr. & Mrs. CWS had this great little house in central California. CWS loved this little house and in particular his hunting den. In that nice little den he kept his rifles, shotguns and fishing gear. He loved to clean his weapons, re-wrap fishing poles and in general work with his hunting and fishing gear into the wee hours of the evening never worring about gun oil on the rug or hooks left stuck in the old desk. Life was wonderful. Then one day Mrs. CWS made the big announcement, we are going to have little CWS's. Wonderful. We have three bedrooms, NO PROBLEM!. Soon little CWS Jr. came along and boy was CWS one proud Papa. He went off to his little den to begin building a fishing pole for CWS Jr. and to refurbish the old single shot Winchester 22 to be ready when CWS Jr. was ready for the hunt. But wait, Mrs CWS is IN MY ROOM!!!! This would make a wonderful playroom for little CWS Jr. she said. Sure said CWS, a boy needs to get his hands in the tackle and gun oil early! Oh no said Mrs. CWS. There is oil on the carpet and sharp pointy hooks on the shelf and GUNS everywhere! We must change a few things. Uh sure said CWS, a few things.

And that is the story of why CWS had to buy a new house beacuse once Mrs CWS was done the animal heads on the wall were no longer deer heads but little painted bunnies. The carpet was no longer a place where gun oil could be used but a sft senseble berber, and hooks were used to hang little jumpers and jackets for CWS Jr. not catch salmon. And is how CWS and his STUFF ended up in the garage where the temp averaged 115%.

Moral of the story. Kids are great but they change your life AND
buy a home with an airconditioned/ heated garage or in a climate where it doesnt matter. (As I sit writing this in my 4000 sq ft Califorina house, from the garage)

Nope. Just need your name on the mortgage and the college tuition checks.
