In the spirit of trying all the sticks I can get my hands on, I lite up a cienfuego. Not sure where it came from. Has anyone ever heard of this stick. Its a torpedo. I snipped off a generous amt of the tip. The draw was good, to good but no smoke was released. The immediate taste was grass and dirt with a hint of cedar.:barf: . No matter how hard I puffed, the stick was burning correctly but no smoke was gotten. About 1/2 way through the 6" stogie, there was a hint of spice. I got real excited but with the next puff the spice was gone. Still no smoke relative to the way I was puffing I got tired of waiting for some flavor and tossed the stick out. BTW the grass, dirt and cedar remained. Those first two are not my flavored taste.

Anyone ever heard of this stick or better yet smoked it.:dunno:

never seen em, and apparently they are not a good smoke if you need to fight for smoke.

I have had one. It actually wasn't a bad smoke. It sounds like a construction issue with that cigar. It is a good knockaround cigar. It has been awhile since I've smoked one though.

I've smoked a couple of these and I liked them. Just goes to show you yet again, everyone's tastes are different.

Not to try something simply because someone else didn't like it, ESPECIALLY after trying a single sample, is rediculous.

I won a box of the Blazers (6x52 toro size) at a charity smoking event last year. Never heard of them before that but some guys at the event told me it was a good cigar. They are by Puros Indios. From what I remember they were fairly decent. I think I may have sent a couple out in some bombs. Also, a few friends seemed to enjoy them as well. You may have just had a bad stick or just not for your taste.

I had one of these a few months back, freshly bought at a B&M. I recall the flavor being okay, but it burned terribly and I tossed it about halfway through.

Isn't that made by Roland Reyes, of Puros Indios fame? If so, can't say as I liked it much.
Yup that's the guy who makes them. He also makes Cuba Aliados and Flor de Todo. When I first started smoking cigars years ago, I bought a couple of each one and they all pretty much tasted the same; tasted mostly like grass. I honestly can't stand them but I have a buddy who likes them as yard gars.

You definitely had a stick that had a construction problem or possibly an issue with too high of a humidity. I smoke these on a regular basis, have never had any kind of a draw issue and they have all produced massive volumes of smoke.

Personally I really like several of the cigars produced by Reyes Family Cigars. I currently have the following boxes stashed away.....

2 - CA Anniversary
2 - RFC Classsic
2 - RFC Premier
4 - PI Viejo
2 - Puros Indios

To each his own I guess!!

Amen to that... I am actually a big Puros Indios fan and the Cienfuegos is a really good cigar, if you let it site for awhile. The new offerings from the Reyes Family (the people who run PI) are pretty much crap with the exception of the re-release of Cuba Alliados - Miami. This is a cigar the Rolando Reyes, Sr grandson blended and it is friggin awesome.

When they were originally released I smoked quite a few, mild and tasty, than I believe the blend changed or someone else was making them....I just didn't care for them after that.

ah the aged piramade. i really liked this cigar, it had some quality issues, but it was the perfect knockaround cigar in iraq. if it got messed up for whatever reason (and there were a LOT of reasons) no big deal. but still, great coffee or water cigar!

That is exactly what happened, at least in my humble opinion. If you believe the rumors, when My. Reyes started stepping out of the way some, his nephews sort of started tearing the business apart with shoddy deals, 2nd rate blending and the like. They burned alot of bridges along the way. Unfortunate to because they had a good product at a great price. They should have stuck with what Mr. Reyes started and they would still be A+. Like I said earlier, their new offering, Cuba Alliados - Miami is phenomenal, from the blending to the smoking to the packaging. There Reyes Family cigar is a dog turd though.
