That does look interesting, even more so given that one of the blends is using a San Andres wrapper. Add to that the fact that its only $9 a piece, which is really solid for Viaje, and my interest is piqued.

Out of curiosity, how many online cigar communities come out with cigars that aren't 'limited'? I'm struggling to think of one example. They're cigar communities not cigar manufacturers so I wouldn't be shocked to hear they don't produce a regular production cigar, but...

Whether you like it or not (not you specifically, but the general 'you'), the industry, IMO, is moving in this direction (has moved?) where the market demands new and different. That is why we see so many LEs and so many blends come and go so (relatively) quickly. In this type of market, it makes sense for manufacturers to embrace these niche market blends. There is a built-in market for those PLUS you have the consumer who must have everything new. Get in, make your buck, then get out and move on to the next thing. This is why some companies - even those who once bashed the business strategy - now sell almost exclusively LEs (even if those same companies refuse to admit it).

I absolutely agree with this 100%...but I do wish it wasn't so. I'm down to my last few Exclusivo Lanceros and the thought of having no more makes me so upset I'm to the point of trying to phone Andre and telling him I'll commission him to make another 96 boxes myself!
When you find a blend you like in a size you love it's difficult to hear that you can't have it.
That's where this strategy falls down.

I don't think it's so much the consumers that are thirsting for something 'new and different' all the time. The manufacturers create the 'new craze' and consumers react. What I, the cigar enthusiast in general, want in a cigar is just good quality, construction, consistency, and relatively easy to buy at a realistic price point. @JonHuber demonstrates this consistently in the market. If a cigar maker has a great core line then there shouldn't be a mind set that they have to come up with something new all the time to stay relevant. Honestly, I give a rats ass about fancy marketing or limited edition . If someone is creating a cigar to 'get in and get out' with my money, I spend my money elsewhere.
More to the point of this thread, I have purchased and smoked, The Collective, The Buckingham, Sensei's Sensational Sarsaparilla, and have a BOTL cigar I'm waiting to smoke. All of them were really good cigars too. I purchased them not so much because they were limited but more for who made them. I also support the organizations that they were made for.
