Cigar rollers for special events

I hope to be engaged within the next month or so, but we are already starting to talk about wedding/reception plans. As such, I thought that having an on-site roller might be a great idea for the reception and that hand-rolled smokes would make a great handout/favor for attendees.

Has anyone here hired a roller for a reception or similar event? If so, any recommendations on a good vendor would be greatly appreciated.

Just talked to a guy here in AZ about that.. he reps an ex-cuban that.. not sure if you want to look out this far.. but PM me if you want his contact info. I understand they will do custom bands, etc. for the event as well.

Gotta say, the handful of "on-the-spot" rolled sticks that I've smoked have been awful for one reason or another. I'm sure it's probably equal parts poor quality leaf/blending and construction.

If it were me, I'd just put the money you'd spend on hiring a guy to get a good box or two for handouts. Well, actually, I'd get one cheap mild-ish box of small cigars, and one good quality box of whatever you and/or your smoking buddies will enjoy.

personalcigarroller.com is out of Kansas City. Bit closer to you than AZ. Corey took a year and trained with a cuban roller.

Every now and then I read about a cigar lounge having an event at which a roller will be present to roll cigars. (There is one place in Connecticut which has a regular guy come once a week.)

You might check with your local B&M's to see if they know about anyone who does this near you. They might also give you the true scoop on who's good and who's not.
