Cigar shops in Monterrey, Mexico????

Hey guys, Im down here on the border inMcAllen for the next 5 weeks doing my family medicine rotation, and a few friends and I were thinking about heading down to Monterrey this weekend for a couple of days. I figured while I was down there I might sample the local fare and check out some of the fine smoking establishments if there were any. Anyways, if you guys know of any reputable places down there that I might be able to get some good stuff at, Id appreciate a pm or a post from ya. Thanks bros!!!!:crosseyed

Look up the LCDH store. Otherwise I'm sure you will find fakes all over the place. I just saw this first hand with a box of Punch Churchills.

Mexico just may have the largest reservoir of counterfeit cigars on the planet....visit an LCDH and you should be OK :thumbsup:

Dont think there is a LCDH in Monterrey. At least I didnt see it on their site. Sometimes 5 star hotels have a good shop, and thought you all might have been there. Thanks guys.

I'll leave this one to the more experienced BOTLs....but if you're just looking to smoke, why not bring your own? If you're looking to buy in Mexico, well, bring some $$$$

I've been to Reynosa (wouldn't recommend it) and Progresso. I have NEVER seen real cigars over there. It has always been fake looking cigars in shotty humidors.

having just been to Monterrey, I can tell you it's a bad place to get a real Cuban cigar...not gonna happen there...sorry,

OK LCDH is a good spot. They have them in most every big city. Since each store is a franchise, they cannot sell fake smokes. If they are caught with even one in their inventory, they loose the franchise and all the money they have invested. Not that I would know anything about CC's.
