I am working on a project for my webdisign class. I am doing a cigar website, but cant come up with a great color scheme. I wanted to get your opinions on the best color schemes for a cigar site.

There are 2 kinda common ones I have come across as I was looking at other sites, Shades of Brown, or something similar to BOTL with shades of Black and grey.

I look forward to everyones comments.

The site will be for Events going on through out the country.

Thanks,
Josh

I wouldve said some lighter shades of brown, but looks like you have that covered. Maybe some darker greens?? Anyway, keep us updated on this. Cool project!

Dark browns and Reds imo. But it could just be that I just smoked a woflie o). As far as I am aware. Shades of brown are the most common used colors for cigar websites because they are the most commonly found colors regarding a cigar. Honestly it all comes down to personal preference.

I always associate dark brown and dark green with cigars, and especially pipes. Kind of like enjoying a cigar in an old British club with lots of dark woods with hunter green accents.

Rich textured colors that will pull the viewers eyes to the image is what works best for any Web Design. As is being said cigars are synonymous with rich colors but if you want to use smoke as a centerpiece you need to use a dark color so you can see the effects of the smoke...browns work great but don't use shades of gray too much...hunter green with mohagony makes for a good contrast. At some point you should post pictures of this...we're all about photos on here.

Notes: Picture covers up half the text when I first load, could just be my resolution though. Same thing on the events page, picture covers up half the text (The liga for sale at chicago picture). FAQ's, nice page, only questions. Other then that, looks awesome works well

Didn't see you latest updates til now. Looks great. Love the drawing of the ashtray. My only suggestion is to maybe make the center info square larger. Maybe you already are doing that, just an observation. Although now that I think about it, it may just look smaller on the iPad. Either way, it's cool and looks great. Do you plan on linking this site to it?

Thanks for the input. Could be the resolution Matt for covering the text I havent tested in different resolutions, will make sure I do that.

It meets all the requirements for the assignment in the class there are still things I want to change, possibly pull the FAQ page, I had to do that for the assignment.

Hoping to make this a functioning site, Should include BOTL Links along with alot of other features I am still tweeking as these classes go on and I learn more. First time with jQuery and javascript so still alot to learn.

Thanks for the input.

I'm at 1600x900. The picture moves if I zoom on the page so it could do with it's anchor location vs the text anchor *shrug*
