I'm going for work in Canada soon and want my cigars to make it there for my time off work and don't want any snags.

Can anyone fill me in on any problems that might arise in my travels on the airline hassle?

I will leave all lighting paraphernalia home and look for a lighter or matches when I arrive

Thanks!

Just pack em in a travel case, and enjoy when you get there. I think you can fly with like 50 of them before it's even remotely an issue.

Yep, 50 is the limit, but don't go overboard on the number. Base it on the time you will be there. Also, throw it in your carry on cuz if its checked, its very cold down there and will suck the humidity out. I always take a fiver in a herfador with a cutter and never any hassle.

I will be gone for 6 weeks and want to take a 100, and hope that will be OK without a hassle

Thanks Brother for the quick reply!

Man, even I don't try to fly with that many. Duty would be a crapload, I'd assume. You need more than one per day for your traveling? You must work about as much as I do.

where are you headed in canada?

also, be careful what you bring over, as you may have bigger issues getting them back across your side than you do coming over to mine (aka isom's)

The cigar tax in Canada is 300% for anything above 50 cigars, so you really don't want to take that chance. We see a lot of Canadians here in Scottsdale at the store who stock up before they head home. Each person picks up 50 cigars and takes them across for the smoker. It is insane.

When traveling, keep the cigars that you take within the limits. Also, assume they will search your luggage on both sides of the border. Some great advice has been given.

Well yes, we do love our Canadian's here. But it still sucks bad for them, I always feel bad for them because of it.

I'll be working on a new rebuild of a huge smelter in Vancouver area, 6 weeks on, one week off for a few years

I will leave whatever I don't smoke there at the end of 6 weeks and return after a week break with 50 more

Thanks everyone for your answers and concerns for a brother of the leaf!
