Have any of you guys heard of cigars at costco? I know that a costco near me, northern Virginia, has begun to carry cigars. Any thoughts? Costco is great for bulk, but when it comes to quality, it is really hit or miss. So if anyone has had any experience I'd appreciate the comments.

I dunno about Costco, but the SAM's here has a "Humidor cart" operated by some third-party vendor. It's got a digital guage in there and everything, and it was reading 69% when I saw it. The cigars were packaged up in 5 and 10 packs...unfortunately, they were mainstream NCs like Romeo y Julietas, Montecristos, Partagas, and of course Macanudo.

I'd be curious what Costco is like (since it's right down the street) but I haven't gotten a membership there yet...

If I'm going to buy cigars from a store, it damn well better have a walk-in humidor, that's half of the experience for me. Otherwise, I'll buy online.

reviving a very old thread here...

we just got a new costco about 3 months ago... they just started carrying cigars within the last couple of weeks..

all big brand NC stuff.. monte, RyJ, cohiba, etc...

but the prices are ALARMINGLY cheap.. Im talking boxes of cohiba coronas for $95 (famous carries the same thing for $180)... boxes of RyJ #4's for $75 (Famous = $143)...

I dont know if they are pushing them out super cheap just to try to get people to buy them (new item on the shelves).. or if this is some old, dried out, terrible stock they just need to get rid of, or if this is their normal pricing.. or what...

costco does not have a humidor.. the sticks are just shrink wrapped in their boxes and laid out on a table...

but rh here is 86% today (its raining).. most of the winter it stays in the mid 50's... (so rh is a factor here.. but its not horrible.. having the sticks out of a controlled environment for a short while doesnt have a whole lot of impact as long as you let them rest for a while once you get them into a humi before smoking...)..

I like some big brand NC stuff.. but Im not a huge fan of most of it....but at those prices.. Im tempted to go grab a couple of boxes and take the chance..

I have seen people here, and on other boards talk about costco cigars.. but I havent seen anyone talking about actually buying some and reporting back whether or not it was worth the time, effort, and money...

has anyone here actually bought sticks from costco? if so, how did it work out?

My Costco only carries Swishers, Black & Milds, and cigs. Had no clue some sold cigars until I just now saw this thread.

A couple of years back, I bought some Partagas at a Costco in Florida (my Costco here at home in Wisconsin does not carry cigars). I think I must have had a bad experience because I've never been tempted to buy any more when I go down there to visit the in-laws...!

My local Costco (northern va) used to have a cabinet humi set up. I seem to remember mostly the same brands that have been mentioned (cohiba, RyJ, macanudo, etc). I haven't looked recently to see if it's still there.
