Last night I was smoking a La Gloria Flecicias with a tapered foot. I was wondering if you were supposed to cut the foot and light it up like a "regular" cigar? I have had tapered cigars before and have alway found the the shape causes it to have a very difficult draw at the outset. Does anyone cut the foot?

Thanks in advance for any info

I don't cut the foot, but it does take a few draws to get them going. I'm always amazed that every AF perfecto I've smoked manages to have a perfect burn once the tapered part burns down.

do not cut them. the shape is called a perfecto or figurado generally and is meant to offer an even burn at the onset. and yes given the small aperture they are tighter on the draw at first

After smoking MANY AF's, I have never had a problem with the tapered foot. If anything, I can sense a different taste in the foot part before it gets to the body.
