These have peaked my interest for a long time. Anyone have any personal experience with em? Also when did these come out and are the ones for sale now the originals? :help:

Ahhh.... now I remember....these are the Seleccion Reserva's. Pharmgator sent me one to try and I thought it was OK, not great though.

Other than that, I don't know when they were first produced or if they are still in production.

They came on in late '02, IIRC. Were supposedly to be limited but then produced again in '03. Some say the '02s are better than the 03s. Others say there is no difference. I have no clue as I've never smoked them ($$$), just some ruminations from botls over the years.

I have a box from Dec 02 and haven't tried anything other than the Robusto yet. It was similar to the normal Cohiba Robusto, but there was something distinctly different, however, I cannot put my finger on exactly what that was.

Must be nice!! I wasn't even smoking then. So say I bought a box now, what do you think the chances are they would be from 02 or 03? :crackwhip

I'd email the vendor to get a list of his boxcodes, if the difference in '02 and '03 is significant to you.

I speicifically asked my vendor for a late 02 box, and he was able to get me one.

Typical Cohiba profile with less grass and more caramel.
I think the 02s are much more refined that the 03s.
I have a box code of Mar. 03 and Sept 02. Shoot me your addy and send you a sample from the broken box.

I was disappointed with these. Completely one dimensional IMO. I smoked a torpedo last night and it just tasted of cedar the whole way. No change. I won't be buying another box of these anytime soon.

We must be smoking different cigars because mine were good enough that I wrote it down on the buy whenever available list. Lots of transition. GReat cigar.

'02 Espy from the SR box is very tasty. I've heard that the robustos are the weak link in the box.
