I occasionally smoke Cohibas, usually siglo III or Robustos, and there is no doubt that they are quality cigars with a nice flavor. They don't seem to be overly complex just "good". I go back and forth about whether they are worth the price tag, given that there are so many quality cigars at such a lower price point.

Does anyone here smoke Cohibas as their regular smoke?

I like Cohibas, especially the Sig 6, Esplendido, Lancero and Corona Especiale!! With some age, I think they develop a wonderful complexity. Not when young for sure.

I agree with you though about the price tag. I think when you buy Cohiba, more than any other cuban cigar, you are paying for the name as much as for the cigar itself. They ain't cheap so they aren't an everyday smoke for me. Then again, my fav is the Sir Winston which isn't cheap either!

I can't afford them as my go to smokes, but I'm one of those people who would be EXTREMELY hard pressed to settle on one brand, let alone one smoke. Those threads that say "if you could only have one" are never for me. I might just be able to get by with limiting myself to 5 brands, but even that would be a stretch!

As for worth the money? Hard to say. Not when I'm hitting the "buy" button, but when I'm smoking one? Whole different story, lol.

I agree with you, sogon. I struggle with the value of certain smokes; e.g. - "bang for the buck". But, I also agree with tuba. Some of the Cohibas are very, very fine when aged. In my opinion, there are several brands and vitolas available that are equal or superior to the Cohiba equvalents, at a much lower price point. I can live without the name.

IMHO, Cohiba are not worth the price, I like the VI, and Secretos, but they are not something I usually buy boxes of, I like to keep a few around but not my regular smoke.

I love Cohibas...and I agree about the price tag...that is why they are highly counterfieted. Like Wade said, smoke what you like, however, there is nothing wrong with brand loyalty...Like me, I have an obsesion with Gurkha's...but my regular smokes are AF and RP...go figure!

I'm with you on the Gurkahs Daviso, for some reason, I love the brand. The Cohibas I've had have been goood to great smokes. The SigVI was the best, but no way would i try to afford a box of them. So for me, the answer would be NO, not worth the money. For $20 a stick I would take a PAM64 or even Opus X over the Cohibas I've had. And as has benn said earlier, there are CC I've enjoyed more than the Cohibas, that are a third of the price.

For me it's an excellent special occasion cigar. I bought a box of robustos 7-8 years ago ($325 bucks then, against the Spanish Peseta) and savored every one. Now with the weakness of the dollar the exchange rate really jacks up the price against the Euro for us yanks. A few great cigars for a third of the price or less (In my opinion) are VEGAS ROBAINA FAMOSOS, MONTECRISTO 4, 5 & B's and SANCHO PANZA BELICOSOS. My 2 cents...

If I was to smoke a cohiba, I would surely look for some age on it as I hear that truly changes the profile. So I hear.

Cohiba and "bang for the buck" probably don't belong in the same sentence. However, I concur with Tubaman, with age, these are some of the better cigars around in my humble opinion. I'm smoking through some '95 CCE's and they're extremely good! Of course taste is extremely subjective.

I do not buy them because of the price and they are not my favorite marca. However is it nice have friends like Kevin, Shane, and John that may have a spare stick or two. :Stretchgr:

As I noted before, for me I need to have variety. I really enjoy the profile of Cohibas, so for me, if I could afford it I'd always have a box of CoRo's on hand. Of course, I don't, so what does that tell you?

I usually try to pick up a few Siglo III singles whenever I go to the supermarket. They're pricey at 5KD each ($19 US), but I let 'em sit in the humi for a few months and they're absolutely phenomenal. I was smoking a III at work one day by myself after lunch, and I had one of those "holy shit" moments about half way through. I took some smoke into my mouth, exhaled it slowly, looked down at the stick and thought to myself, "Holy shit, this is probably the best cigar you have ever smoked!"

I love it when it just sneaks up on you like that. :)

More like Cohiba... BANG, there go your bucks.

I have a few, but I have never bought a whole box because I just can't afford it. I like them pretty well.

Well, I don't regularly smoke Cohibas but my uncle does. He smokes two or three a day, you should see his humidor. The only cigars he'll smoke instead of a Cohiba is a HdM Churchill or RyJ.

I've only smoked a couple Cohiba's...and they were both smaller Siglos. They were pretty good, but I enjoyed a good Bolivar PC just as much.
