Columbo's daily cigar

I found myself watching a few episodes of my favorite detective last night. Then suddenly it dawned on me, what type of cigar was Columbo's daily smoke...I went to the wonderful world of google where the answer is less than I had hoped for. It appears as though Columbo smoked a variety of smokes and were more the swisher sweet 6 to a box gas station type of cigar. Kind of a letdown tbh...for anyone that loves Columbo or Peter Falk in general you should check out this interview from '97 with CA. http://www.columbo-site.freeuk.com/talk.htm

A friend gave me 4 seasons of Boston Legal for Christmas. I've been watching and enjoying them. For those who haven't seen it, it usually ends each episode with the two main characters sharing a cigar and scotch on a balcony. It is a great cigar moment. Anyway, I noticed in the first couple of episodes that they were smoking Cohibas, probably Esplendidos. After that the bands disappeared. I guess someone told them that CC's were a no-no.
