Got a stack of comics from the late 70's and I know nothing about them. I plan on selling them just wondering if any one knows anything about them. They are in average condition, on a scale of 1-10 I would put them as 6-7, some better some worse.

These vary from Bugs Bunny, Pink Panther, Archie, Tom & Jerry, ect.

I take it you didn't keep them with bags and boards? Any dogears on the pages or krinkles in the spins will drive the price down... I tried to sell my Green Lantern collection from when they restarted the series in '89 (I had every book up to 2005), and got nickled and dimed down for every dog ear, wrinkle, and even smudged print... I finally opted to hold on to them because I was only going to get $1-2 extra per book (average).

Yeah, they were comics we read as kids so they are nowhere near mint condition. I guess I was wondering if there was any value to them at all or if I should just toss em.

I am no expert on this stuff (I stopped paying attention years ago) but I there is a chance you could find someone who wants em... you might be able to sell 'em for the cost of a 5'er? Worth a shot.

My brother was a huge comic guy would buy 2 copies of everything one to read another for the collection. Something is worth whatever someone wants to pay for it. People will buy them, but for how much who knows. As sean said Collectors want pristine untouched and every blemish takes it down. My brother was a huge comic guy would buy 2 copies of everything one to read another for the collection. One option is if you could donate them to the childrens ward at your local hospital that's what my brother did with all his old ones.

If you didn't keep them in collectors quality and they are not first printings they aren't worth much. I have a couple original Star Wars comics in MS9 condition and the best offer I've gotten was around $25-$35. I had every Thor comic from 1990-2000 and I sold them for next to nothing in 2002.

like sean said, those are NOT in great condition, but despite that, due to the era, they should have some value. someone should take them as a bulk lot. i have no solid concept of the value, but i can tell you to look for the comic shop that has been open the longest, and one that is known for handling bulk buys and collections. it is a small industry, and really doesn't support swindlers long. ask around, i am sure there are a couple cigar-smoking nerds who come in to see you. o)

Dammit. I'm a huge comic book guy. As for the look of the condition you are definitely not looking at a huge sale on these. Like everyone has said every imperfection hurts the value.

As for the era of comics they will carry some value. Go to a few comic shops see what they say they would be willing to give you for these but take my warning "do not sell them if they give you a good price because it means they carry more value then they are letting on."

Once you get some prices come back post up here or you can PM me and we can go over them all. Actually PM me before so we can talk and I can talk to the guy I deal with here in the great white.

Hope I'm of any help.

Ditto the above. I'm a long-time comics collector and just from this photo, I'm concluding there isn't value here-- Particularly, that one with a piece of the cover missing you might as well just shred for packing materials for your next bombing run! That said, I've found this site to be helpful in grading comics: http://www.mycomicshop.com/help/grading. And, once you've come up with an approximate number grade, you can use this website: http://www.comicspriceguide.com/ to determine the "value." Of course, few people pay the book value, just as most people don't pay MSRP for cigars! The value is wholly resident in what someone, somewhere, is willing to pay... You need to sign up to use that price guide site, but it's free.

Yeah, a couple are beat up and I went trough and pitched those. Mom was cleaning up and I thought I would ask around before I tossed them out. As someone who doesn't really collect anything I figured I would ask around.

Not sure I want to go through the trouble of digging in to the value of them so I will just conclude this discussion with this.... If anyone wants them let me know and I'll send them on to ya
