I have been perusing the Internet reading about Costa Rican cigars and from what I have heard, they sound (at least a few of them) like something I would like to try.

That said, BOTL's can you help me out here:

1) Have you ever smoked a Costa Rican cigar?

2) If so, what brand, did you rate it, would you smoke again?

3) Any sources you'd offer?

I've smoked a few cigars from Vegas de Santiago before and those that I have had have been pretty good cigars. The only line they have that are totally Costa Rican tobaccos are their Puros line.

I've smoked a few of the Puros, the Chaman and the Don Luis over the years. They have some decent priced samplers if you want to sample some to see if they are cigars that you like and want to buy for regular smoking. Here is their Sampler Page if you want to check it out.

It's the one Country I visit quite a bit about 5 trips so far, I don't like CR cigars much and most of the CC's are fake.

Thant said the one that I liked the Best is the Don Benigo I visited his house/Facility and he was a gracious host, I may have a few left if I do I'll send them to you. If you like them he has a website and sends to the US.

I have only smoked one CR cigar that I am aware of, and it was only recently that I started smoking some of these.

A really nice cigar for the price, not sure if you like the big size but this is the one I like.

D'Crossier, by far the best CR cigar you will come across. Very unique, I can't really think of anything that is like it

I just got back from a couple weeks in CR. I can confirm there does not seem to be a single legit CC anywhere in Fortuna or Cahuita at least. I thought about trying the local cigars but my wife reminded me how that turned out in the Philippines, so I passed.

Did I miss out?
