Yo Cowboys fans, I'm just wondering your thoughts here...

Whenever Roy Williams makes a good play, he shows the "hookem horns." He went to the University of Texas so I believe that's all it's about. There are a lot of Texas A&M fans, Texas Tech, Oklahoma fans probably and other Univ of Texas rival schools that have Cowboys fans around the area.

My question is... does this piss off and alienate himself to a portion of the Cowboys fans because they hate the University of Texas and what the hookem horns stands for? Or is it all good simply because he's making plays for the Cowboys and you can look past the hookem horns?

Just wondering as I know another player (not sure who) did the hookem horns with Roy Williams after his TD which made them get the 15 yard penalty yesterday and I probably would get pissed if I didn't like UT.

Do not think the 15 yard penalty was for the hook em horns sign. Beleice it was charged against miles austin for jumping over him in the endzone.

No clue how fans feel about the use of the sign though.

I just heard on ESPN radio that the Officials told Wade Phillips that the penalty was because of the Hook'Em horns because it was 2 players synchronizing a celebration.

Wade Phillips said today in a press conference the penalty was because of the hookem horns. Everyone thought it was the leap, but it wasn't.

Sam Hurd, not Miles Austin, got Cowboys celebration penalty
Posted by Michael David Smith on October 18, 2010 5:45 PM ET
The Dallas Cowboys drew a 15-yard celebration penalty after Roy Williams' touchdown gave them a 7-0 lead on Sunday against the Vikings. But the Cowboy who drew the flag wasn't the Cowboy who was identified by the referee as committing the penalty.

Miles Austin, who did a leap-frog jump over Williams after the score, was the one identified by jersey number when the referee announced the penalty. Cowboys coach Wade Phillips, however, says V.P. of officiating Carl Johnson told him today that the penalty was actually called on Sam Hurd for flashing the "Hook 'em 'Horns" sign.

"I thought it was on Miles because the official on the sideline told me that when I asked him," Phillips said. "And Carl Johnson said specifically that was not the call and he would have been upset if they had called it."

How piss-pathetic of a call then, Hook em Horns my ass. How about any other synchronization of celebration, like jumping a chest bumping, of high-five'n, and any other crap load of things they do. So what is acceptable synchronizing a celebration? Smacking each other's ass?

I have not heard anything against him besides he has hard hands, doesn't try hard enough, runs poor routes, and not playing up to his #1 money. I could rely care less and I guess I have not been paying enough attention but this last game I TIVO'd so I ff through everything but the plays.

Being a UT fan, I love the horns, but give me break with a 15 yd penalty for it. I don't really like seeing too much of a celebration in the endzone, and a simple hand gessture seems a lot less benign than 3 guys jumping allover each other. The Cowboys just need to score and walk to the sidelines. Enough of any kind of celebrations, they must have a target on them.

Exactly why I would be pissed if I was a Cowboys fan. He hasn't done jack sh*t since going "home" to the Cowboys so he should just shut up and play.

I've been a Cowboys fan since I was a kid.

You can blame all of the penalties, lack of production (from a very talented team), and the unfocused attitude squarley on Wade Phillips.

Look at a winning machine like the Colts or the Patriots...They are focused, they don't showboat, and the play as a team. They are rarely found in the headlines as part of some scandal, and that's why Moss was let go...Talk sh*t about your front office and coaching staff on national tv and guess what? Bye bye!

The Cowboys lack the leadership and discipline that Phillips cannot muster...Get him outta there.

I think it was a combined "Excessive celebration" penalty... for the jumping, the horns etc...
