Craft beer stores in NJ/NYC area

Hey fellas,


I'm Looking to get into craft beer and am looking for a good craft beer store that sells just craft beer. I know there are some upstate and further out north and stuff but I was wondering if anyone knew of any by Staten Island? Where I can go and talk to people and just get an idea of what to buy and try stuff? Places that have good selections? Mind you i'll be going into this blind so I have no idea what i'll be buying but yeah, hit me!

Also throw some suggestions if you got em for stuff for me to start with thanks!

There's one a friend of mine goes too which is in Jersey City, NJ right outside of the Holland Tunnel. I have yet to get there but he said floor to ceiling craft beers and great sales. Plus hard liquors also for sale there too. Hope it helps you!

There's a few places around me on Rt 18 that have great selections of craft brews but they do sell other beer, wine, and liquor. They also have some great people that work there that would be willing to help you out. I'm about 35-40 min from Staten Island though.

As far as what beers you should try I would probably suggest a pale ale such as Sierra Nevadas pale ale or Stone pale ale. I feel like pale ales are a great beer to get you started with the whole craft beer scene.
