I have just returned from Cuba where I enjoyed a number of great cigars including some Monti's and some RyJ's. The only CC that I really don't like is the Guantanamera line. They are one of the cheapest and it shows in the flavor.

Another of one of the less expensive CC's is the Cuaba. They are a great looking figurado. The shape makes them very interesting to smoke and the flavor is fine. They don't seem to be very popular but I like them. They are great for gifts because the look so different. I've been to Cuba several times and I always enjoy them.

Thanks Bruce, I have been intrigued by this brand but haven't plunged yet... For some reason these don't get too much love - maybe due to plug issues now that I think about it?

Not really a fan of the Cuaba line. Vintage, aged or fresh. They are serviceable as a cigar but that isn't a factor I embrace in a cigar. They are cheap I give it that but I would bump that budget at least up to the $90-$120 range per 25 ct for my cheaper CC. So many options out there at that price point that blow the Cuaba out of the water.

I haven't delved into the CC purchasing yet but I didn't even know $90-$120 per 25 was a range for them.:.
Nevermind. I just saw that the Cuaba is in my price range I listed. I guess they are not that cheap after all. That just tells me that they are not even on my radar. Now that I actually think about what I would buy before these: BCJ, BPC, HUHC, HUPC, Monte 5, RG Perlas, Siglo I, Reyes and Principe. Pretty long list... I would probably put the Cuaba in front of the Party Short though. I'm still searching for one that don't taste like a wet sock. Meh.

I had some pretty bad experiences in the past with Cuaba, however they were in a sampler pack I received with some really great cubans such as H.Upman and Monte Cristo #2. This was about 5 years ago, and if my memory serves me, the draw was pretty bad on a couple of them.

Anyway, cheers!
