Hey folks I acquired a few Cubanacan Maduro Lonsdales over the weekend and I've never heard of them before. Additionally when I go to their website I don't even see a Lonsdale being available. I reached out to a rep and this is what I was told…

These are a new size - Cubanacan Maduro Lonsdale. It's a slightly different blend from the other Cubanacan Maduros. Additional ligero. We operate out of Nicaragua w/ our own fields in Esteli & Jalapa and our own factory in Esteli. These have a Ecuadorian wrapper & binder w/ nicaraguan filler from Jalapa & Condega.

Sounds tasty, but I'm wondering if anyone has an experience with these or the brand before. When I did a search across the entire forum I only had 4 hits on 'Cubanacan' LOL

Haven't tried them yet, but they are on my radar. A cigar rep I know reps them along with Crowned Heads and Caldwell. They swear that they are a very good stick and I am anxious to get my hands on some myself. Post up what you think when you get around to trying them!

Give it a try and see what you think before you let someone possibly taint your opinion of it one way or the other. I was gifted one of the habano's to try and made up my mind. :)

Somebody told me that the Las Calaveras was similar to the Cubanacan maduro (which is high praise IMO). And yes, please let us know your thoughts.

We carry them at the shop I work at; we do not have the maduro. With that being said, I really enjoyed the ones that I have smoked. On top of a good cigar, Lawrence with the company is one of the best guys in the business.

Just weaseled one of these away from DSCL this evening and man I was very pleasantly surprised. Without paying a ton of attention it started off with a pretty sweet profile IMO and just got better as she burned. Superb construction and a stick that definitely flirts with full strength. Nubbed this sucker, find some, i don't think you'll regret it one bit!

I believe one of their lines is the Mederos (sp?). I reviewed it years ago when it first came out. Really nice mellow smoke. ..with a predominantly coffee profile.

I've never seen a maduro. I picked up a CT and a Habano at an event last year when they were still 'affiliated' with Tarazona. I didn't care for either. I've seen that the two companies have since separated, but I never fully understood the affiliation anyway. I think that Eddie T may have been contracted to manufacture early Cubanacans at his factory...or something.
