Ever smoked one? How did you like it? How did they taste? Was it worth the $$ ? ($52 each at some sponsors sites) A well known radio talk show host that is an acknowledged cigar aficionado mentioned these this week, and I was wondering if they're worth a try. One of the shops I buy from e-mailed me about a box earlier this year, but at the time I had never even heard of them, and they're a lot of $$$$. If they're as good as they cost, then they could be worth the coin. Just wondering if any folks here have any first hand knowledge.

Thanks!

I haven't had the Salomones but I have had the Royal robusto which I'm pretty sure has the same blend. The RR is easily in my top five and they are worth every penny to me. That being said there stupid expensive and I smoke one a year on a special occasion. The Salomones is a big stick so I've never considered it, it takes me almost 2 hours to smoke the RR.

I had one of the royals but I don't remember which one. Wasn't worth the money I spent on it. Would rather have had a Padron 85th

I smoked one of these over the holiday, and ohhhh what a letdown. It was good, but a major disappointment. Super LONG smoke, wasn't floral like other Davidoff I've had. Didn't really do it for me. I hope to revisit them later, and am hoping they improve with some rest in the humi. First one was almost ROTT I'm keeping my fingers crossed. Your results may vary.

I actually credit Rush with getting me into Cigars. He was talking about the Aurturo Fuente Don Carlos No 2.....and the way he said it was funny. Ended up getting a bunch of the standard fuente stuff, and a Don Carlos Robusto....it was the only one that stood out in the group. After that I was hooked! I haven't had the nerve to try one of the Double Ligero chisels that he talked about...that would probably knock me on my butt! Good to know that there are ditto heads lurking here.

The chisels are very much stronger then any Davidoff but it is a fantastic smoke. Try it some time after a big dinner just be sure to have some sugar ready if you start feeling the Nic hit. I have listened to Rush for a long time since my dad always had him playing in the car or at work when he was on. Love him or hate him he puts on a good show.
