Saturday my wife and I decided it would be a good day to spend a few hours at one of the local creeks in lieu of spending it at a crowded swimming pool. So we packed up the kid and some stuff, drove to a local trail head, and walked the 1/2 mile to the creek. Last time we were there it had a nice swimming hole. The water was down a bit, but still a nice hole. As is my custom I snapped a few photos.

Found this butterfly on the ground. Looked like it'd just hatched out earlier in the day as it still hadn't unfurled its wings all the way.

Rescued this guy from the creek.
We had a great time, other than my wife got pinched on her leg by a crawfish and my back got a little baked. It was great to get out of the house for a while and just relax. Next time I'm bringing a blow up lounge chair and some cigars :grin:.
