I recall reading about a unique DE vitola that was unique to shops across the pond...in Germany, I believe. My better half is there for the next 10 days and will pick me up some if I can tell her what they are... but I can't recall what they were or if it was just my imagination. Can anyone help me out?:dunno:

They recently or will soon be releasing an Undercrown Flying Pig size in Holland. Not sure if it will hit Germany too or not. Also not sure if it has even hit Holland yet.

They've actually been released. I remember seeing a pic somewhere. DE wants to keep them in Europe for some reason. G1

A quick search of BOTL and Google doesn't turn up anything...maybe it was in a video interview or something that I'm thinking I heard that :dunno:.

I know there were pics floating around of the packaging with cigars in them from DE so I would assume they have shipped but that part I can't confirm. You were definitely right in regards to a special size.

It was posted within the last month on DE's facebook page. And Jonathan talked about it quite a bit when he was in Europe several months ago through his twitter and facebook accounts.

From Halfwheel:

Holland will be getting a new Undercrown. Drew Estate’s popular Flying Pig vitola will return as a limited version of their newest brand, Undercrown.
Jonathan Drew confirmed that it will be a limited regional release for the country he visited earlier this year.
Drew originally posted the following (in Dutch) on a Dutch forum a few weeks ago:
“Flying Pig” UNDER CROWN XLR:
People who know Drew Estate quite well, understand that we are a company that does not makes many cigars for other companies. In fact we only have one private label brand, and this is the “JAVA by Drew Estate” that we excusively for Rocky Patel.
But we are working on something very special for a group of retailers in the Netherlands I am very excited about – a Flying Pig in the UNDER CROWN blend. For now I’m calling this Limtied Edition “XLR” (Xtremely Limited Reserve). It is not limited by constraints on the tobacco. To be honest, the Flying Pig is an extremely difficult cigar to produce and that dramatically slows the production floor in the factory.
This special project is officially in motion. More information will be provided in the near future. I think we got the blend just right.
best, JD
(Editor’s note: the above is translated the link above is the direct text.)
“The cigars are in production as we speak and should be ready to ship to Holland sometime in June,” said Drew to halfwheel. “Saw them today on the priduction floor.”
The cigars will be rather limited in nature with between 80-100 boxes being released at the same price as the original Flying Pig, a 4 1/8 x 60 Double Perfecto vitola with a signature pigtail that first debuted in 2009 with the release of the Liga Privada No. 9 Flying Pig. Drew Estate later released the Liga Privada T52 Flying Pig in 2010 and a slightly larger Liga Privada Ünico Serie Feral Flying Pig in late 2011.
Undercrown debuted at last year’s IPCPR show and is set to see its first extension, the non-limited Undercrown Corona ¡Viva!, hit shelves in the coming weeks.
Undercrown Flying Pig, which will shed the XLR name, will be limited to the Compaenen stores, which operate locations throughout Holland. It will be the smaller Flying Pig vitola, as opposed to the Feral Flying Pig vitola that is currently being made for the Ünico Serie.
When asked if they were coming to the U.S., drew Didn’t seem optimistic.
“Well, I just don’t know as (the Flying Pigs) are a major pain in the ass to make.”

I believe that someone said these are not to be sold in the U.S...

However, obviously if you know someone in Holland, then you are good to go ;)

ALso, to the OP, if you can't get anyone to Holland, don't forget that Pete has a limited Tatuaje Gran Cojonu Reserva at CigarWorld sold only in Dueseeldorf, Germany that may be easier for you to get ahold of...

All info here, if you need it...

Hope that helps!

I have a line on getting a box of these but the shipping is crazy, $40. The total cost would $234 US dollars. I thought that was a little steep. If someone seriously wants them I can get them. Only 12 sticks in a box thats almost $20 per stick. Little to pricey for me.

If this is legit, I am very interested!
