I've noticed over the last two weeks more often than not, that I can really feel the nicotine in my chest when I smoke med-full and full bodied cigars. I smoked 1 3/4 cigars today. A cuban bullet 2.0 natural, and A.P.C. (Amilcar Perez Castro) Robusto that i only got a third of the way through on the way home last night. I smoked the Cuban bullet after eating a turkey burger w/ no bun. I ended up eating a full lunch about an hour and 20 minutes later. I lit the A.P.C. and basically nubbed it.

It's been about 2 hours since i smoked the cigar, and I can still feel the nicotine in my stomach. Maybe its just gas, and somehow the nicotine is trapped inside, but cigars never used to affect me in this way. Last week I smoked a Namakubi Papi Chulo 4x44 and both I and one of my buddies were tripping off of the (Nicotine) "Kick" that we got from such a small stick! We'd just eaten a big lunch at a chinese buffet so again i wasn't smoking on an empty stomach. When I got home I had to put it out and i'd only smoked half of the cigar. As i finish typing this post I've come to the conclusion that I'm definitely experiencing gas, so maybe it will pass once its gone, but have any of you guys been experienced this before? If so, what did you you do about it if anything?

Thanks

I had a Viaje DT kick my backside, but I'm convinced I was dehydrated... Had you been drinking water, not just eating food?

Matt, i drank a half gallon of water yesterday. I drank water at lunch with my meal. Earlier I drank about a cup and a half of water and it seemed to help break the nicotine down to where it wasn't bothering me as much. I just finished smoking robusto and I drank a liter of bottled water. I can still feel
the nicotine in my chest right now so I'm really not sure what's going on.:dunno:

Hmmm, interesting. I have noticed periods of time when cigars seem to effect me more than usual as well. Don't have a theory yet, other than the simple fact that metabolism has a direct effect on the body's reaction to anything. If your metabolism is really high/low right now maybe that's it ... Have you been working out a lot, eating often, taking in a lot of caffeine? All these things increase metabolism.

Turkey burgers and Chinese buffet .... hmmm. Personally, I think your problems are related to diet. (Too much MSG?)

I've never felt the effects of nicotine in my chest or stomach. It's always varying degrees of a head buzz ... mild to medium is fine, too much and I get dizzy / nauseous.

Nate,

I lost 40lbs last fall, kinda yoyo'd 10lbs during the holidays and recently came
back to the same weight after I lost the 40lbs. My diet currently consists of mainly lean meats and vegetables. I usually eat a sweet potato with one or two meals a day, but not for the past week and a half. That is probably the
most complex carb in my diet. I broke my french press about 2.5 weeks ago
and hadn't gotten around to buying another one so now I may make espresso with my moka pot once or twice a week, so caffeine intake is minimal at that moment.
Low blood sugar? No carbs (which are sugar)? That is when I tend to get hit.
This could be it. I'm going to the doctor this week (routine checkup) and they'll be doing bloodwork, so i'll make a note to ask about this.

I make my turkey burgers at home, and i don't use MSG in my food. They most likely used MSG at the buffet last week though. If you read my comments above, my diets pretty tight, but as TADD suggested, it may
be the lack of carbs or sugars present in my blood. Not sure, but hopefully
I'll get to the bottom of it soon Ted.
