The Vikings went 3 and out on their first 3 possessions to start the 2nd half. Only 2 of those 9 plays were runs to Peterson. The Lions are fortunate the Vikings coaches suck ass and can't call a 2nd half. They run Adrian Peterson for 70+ yards and a TD in the 1st half and just a few yards and carries in the 2nd half. Vikings are up 3 pts I think, 4th and 1 on the Lions 20+ yard line, and they give the ball to Toby Gerhart from the fullback position instead of giving the ball to their best player and letting him fight for it... stuffed.
I give the Lions credit as their team looks real good this year. If Stafford stays healthy, watch out.
IMO, it was the right call to go for it, but total BS they didn't give it to Adrian. Under normal circumstances I agree you kick the FG, but the Vikes have had two straight 2nd half collapses and in the middle of their 3rd. The coach and offensive coordinator are getting crucified in MN for being way too conservative in the 2nd half and playing not to lose rather than to win. Frazier had to go for it at home, with a great RB, to turn the tide and save the season. Right call to go for it, wrong play.Going for it was the wrong call, anyways...once again, this is the NFL...YOU TAKE THE POINTS!
I disagree. The fact that they had only scored 3 points in the second-half of the first 2 games is all the more reason to take the points. Had they kicked the FG, the Lions would have been forced to go for a TD at the end and not a FG to force OT. If you're having trouble scoring points, why wouldn't you take the easy ones? If you're in the middle of another collapse, how does turning down points make sense? If I know my team is struggling for points, I'm going to take them any way I can get them.IMO, it was the right call to go for it, but total BS they didn't give it to Adrian. Yes and as many people have said... IF Stafford stays healthy. But he has been looking good even when getting hit to the ground a lot. Also, they are doing this without their top 2 draft picks this year. 2nd round RB Leshoure is out for the year, and 1st round DT Fairley from Auburn is just about to begin playing again after hurting his foot right away in the preseason. If Fairley can play anywhere near his potential, watch out.Are they fo real??!!
