I think she deifinetly went too far. Not only is it kind of terrorizing the poor kid, it's dangerous. High pressure washers can do serious damage to skin. As the lady in the clip stated, it can peel skin but also the jet is strong enough to penetrate skin and possibly cause an air embolism.

the wash most definetly constitutes abuse,,, but, "grabbing the child which is assaultive behavior/battery..." so, you can't grab your child? unfortunately, a lot of parents think that is true...

I'm just going to throw this out. To me the clips I saw of it on the news the woman did not have the handle shooting highpressure. It seemed it was simply on spray with out the trigger being pulled. I'm not weak and I can't hold those handles with one had usually I don't expect a woman to be able to wrestle with a kid and shoot 1200psi at the same time. I still think she was out of line though.

Wether she pulled the trigger or not, it's child endangerment. she knowingly and willingly put a child in a situatino where she was able, whether by accident or on purpose, to pull that trigger and seriously hurt the kid.

i would not call her a good parent. discipline by terror.

although, i just htought of this, what if she was trying to explain to the kid that it is dnagerous for him to be walking around the wash room while she is power washing, you may get hurt little Johnny, the water will spray on you like this, and it can really huft you. You need to stay right ehre by my side.

Maybe that's what she was saying?? Leave it to the media to only show a snipit of the situation, like all those bs police brutality videos that get cops in trouble for protecting us from beliegerant vagrants...but that's another topic.

Anyhow, she only briefly hosed the kid. I will stay it was dangerous to do that.

I would say a good repremand is in order for this woman, as know one got hurt, it's her child and she can grab it if she wants, and no one would ever know if it hadn't been for big brother watching.

So if here kid tried to walk in the street and she grabbed him with the same amount of force it would be cruel?!?! The whole grabbin thing is a load of crap

I am with you on this, that water was not coming out at high pressure. When you pull the trigger on one of those water goes everywhere, you blow mist 20-30 feet from one of those hoses. Also there is a setting for spot free rinse that come out at a much lower rate. Hell, If hosed my kids off with more pressure than that. They said the kid was screaming...well no one like to sit in thier own shit with thier mother yelliing at them, then it may have been a little embarrassing and caused her to cry or scream.

Not that I am an expert but I have pressure washed probaly 1,000,000 square feet of concrete, stucco and other surfaces, if not more. II have several scars on my habds from being hit a close range from a 1200 PSI washer. They kick back when the trigger is pulled and we didn't see any of that. I think some people just need to mind thier own business. I still don't think that would have been my choice had I been in that situation.
