Had an opportunity to try a few new cigars that were shared with me by bruddah Marvin Chang. The one that impressed me the most and was very enjoyable was the Masterpiece Platinum. Sorry didnt take a pick.

Also got to try the Presidente and the Propio Veneno. All three had very distinct flavor profiles. Also all three had very nice, tight ashes. Really dont want to get into a review here but wanted to know if any of the BOTL have tried them and what were their impressions.

Yeah, I've got some I'm intending to bomb a few BOTL with once I get off my lazy ass. The Masterpiece Platinum is one of my favorites and the Propio Veneno is just an amazing stick.

I'm ASSUMING you either talked to Max or you heard the interview he did with me for Radio Dentata? Max is a great guy.

I've been trying to get my hands on one of those Propios but when I talked to Max it sounded like it was going to be a while before they hit the US market. Also interested to see what the MSRP is going to be on the various lines.

Give you a clue, and double check with Max on this but in California, pricepoint on the DC line ranges from $60-100. At the time I was picking them up at Occidental in San Francisco.

I'm HOPING I can attend IPCPR this July when he's planning to launch some of the Propio.

As it stands for me, Don Cervantes is an excellent cigar.

I tried them. I like them. ;-)

The Veneno uses the most cuban breeds thus tastes very earthy. My favorite out of those 3 would be the platinum. Tres Maduro is my all time favorite from those brands. There is a new Masterpiece Black label coming out in a few weeks. That seems promising. I found a photo here: https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=659095560779095&set=a.242264179128904.61746.183143538374302&type=1&theater

I have only smoked the The Presidente cigar. I thought it had a great flavor, very rich taste with a hint of spiciness. It has a nice aroma, too. Even my wife commented the cigar smelled better than most of the cigars I smoke.

How much is the Propio Veneno? I have not seen it in my local cigar shop or on my favorite online shop. It sounds like it is another great smoke from Don Cervantes, so I'd like to give it a try. I should probably give the Masterpiece Platinum a try, too. I know they have those here, but have not checked online, yet.
