I didn't see anything about warranty or accidental damage protection. I work at a University and a lot of the kids get Dell XPSs, but it's like playing russian roulette with out the warranty & ADP. Just my $0.02.

Excellent! Looks like you got a nice setup (and it's much better than what you were originally looking at). Now all you need to do when you get it is:

(A) Format the HDD to get rid of that nasty Windows stuff, and then
(B) Install Ubuntu and be happy! Well, as happy as you can be without Mac OSX

Agreed. I would not buy a Dell without at least a full one year warranty. Last year, I bought a Latitude and my son bought an XPS and both needed to have the MBs replaced.

Based on my son's problem (heat related issue), I'd highly recommend a USB powered cooling pad like this one: http://tiny.cc/ubAFM, especially if you will be using this for gaming.
