download/save youtube videos?

I am trying to get a video clip off of youtube or well any flash type player and I have NO idea how the hell to make it a file to save on my computer. I would ideally like to just save it on my laptop so I can show it for a speech in one of my classes.

Then on a side note does anyone here know if I just hook up a S-video cable to my computer will it play the video through a VCR as long as the VCR has s-video in?

I believe the newest version of Firefox can somehow give you a link to download the file. But I'm not sure how.

Just for reference, the free Video DownloadHelper plug-in for Firefox has never failed me for this and yields great quality video from most of the flash-based websites.

This is what i went with. Then I had to get a .flv player though. My video player GOMplayer didn't support the video but it played the audio.

The new Real Player has a download feature as well. I've been using it quite a bit.
