I believe the bands were actually changed in 2008, no difference other than the band. Top band is the new band they currently use.

The Holiday Lancero Collection(or as Dave calls it "skinny churchill") that came out in December 2007 had the old bands. An order I received in Nov of 08 had a fiver with 2 different labels and was the first time I saw the new label.

Another change that was made was in 2007, which is when DPG Blues started to come in cello. So if you find some with the old band and no cello they are from '06 or earlier....that is unless someone took them out of the cello.

I have a single DPG blue A left from around 2006 and a bunch of toros from before the new band. I think I'll grab some out of the humi for work tomorrow!

The DPG Blue Generosos is truly one of the greatest cigars I have ever smoked.

It would be in my top 5. Hell, it may even be #1.

It's impeccable.

I bought several over a year ago and they had the old label. I liked them then. Bought some this spring, new labels, smoked one and it was harsh and not very good. Now I think I'll break another of the new ones out and try again. Thought they must have changed the blend...

The DPG Blue Label Exquisitos, Preferidos and Demi-Tasse still do not have cell on them.

I pulled one from my humi the other day. It had been sitting for about 4 months and it hit the spot. Burned well, drew well, no harshness... In fact, I loved it so much I bought a box.

I'll be the odd guy here that says I'd much rather have em fresh and still showing all the spice and strength! Last old one's I got were not nearly as good in my opinion.

I had one of the old-banded Blues recently. It was great. I'm not a huge fan of the Blue like Patrick, but this well-rested one was good. I think I'll let the few others that I have rest as well.
