Stupud question...

Can I record from the DVR or live broadcast or are there copyright restrictions and I can only make DVD's from my existing VHS tapes??

So I can...

1. DVR something, pop in a blank DVD into the DVD recorder, and make a copy of it?

and

2. Pop in a blank DVD into the DVD recorder and record straight from HBO?

Depends on what type of DVR recorder you have....It seems like they would try to prevent that though

i've got a dvd recorder in my desktop...I love netflix!

I have a DVR through timewarner and apparently theirs are set up so I cannot connect a dvd recorder to it. which is a shame, cause there are plenty of shows (discovery, science channel) I would love to be able to record and use in class.

Technically it's fair use so long as you don't edit out the ads, but the MPAA would of course disagree.

The MPAA and RIAA are so the satan.

Yep, not a problem.

I haven't jumped into the finer settings like making chapters and so forth but who needs that crap with porn. :dunno:
