I haven't seen much information on the Short Run 2011 other than Kockroach's review.

Just wondering if anyone knows its exact release date.

If you've smoked it already, how was it? How did it compare to the 2010?

As a big fan of the 2010 blend I can't wait to try the 2011.

Thanks for the link.

I was rather hoping to hear from the brothers on this site, however. I suppose not many of them were able to snag some of these yet.

What's with the trend to dump Nic wrappers in favor of Ecuadorian? Not complaining mind you, just wondering.

Aaron-

The 2010's have been out (well since 2010), we just got the 2011 in this week. Atlantic is 1 of 20 Retailers that got the first delivery.. Haven't smoked one yet, can't wait to hear reviews. Big fan of most all of EP Carrillo's stuff.

Smoking the Short Run 2011 (toro) as I type this.

Creamy, smooth smoke that coats your mouth with flavors of caramel and wood. The first third had plenty of spice, but it's died down now at the mid-way point.

Wonderful cigar. Ordered another 5 of the robusto from Atlantic. Get this while you can, well worth the money.

Wish I was smoking one of the ones I ordered, but USPS lost my package. I fanally got them yesterday and now they need to sit after being out in 115 degree heat since Saturday. I'm crossing my fingers that they are OK.

Lots of people have been doing this for years now, it's just been done fairly quietly. I think that's because there are still some old-timers (in terms of mindset) that think that "puro" = superior.

Tons of Pete Johnson's stuff has Equadorian wrappers. Connecticuts shade wrappers grown in Equador have that uber-creamy characteristic that I love, and are spicier than the true "Connecticut"-grown versions.

ON topic: I loved the 2010 (got a full box after a 5er), and plan to try the 2011 in the smallest size, and wouldn't not be in the least surprised to get a box.

That said, I still haven't tried his two most recent sticks (New Wave and the one that starts with an "E") ... so I have some catching up to do, EPC-wise.
