Just tried one of these tonight, very nice for a very nice price. I was just trying to get into his stuff and used this as a sampler to see. I like the profile, wasn't the most complex, but still good.

How is his other stuff compared to this? I heard the short run was a little stronger, and a lot of it is very smooth and mild. Is this the case? Has anyone tried any of the pricier stuff? I'd like to see what ya'll think before I throw change at his $15 a stick limited editions....

Any help?

The Core line is very similar in profile to the Short Run with just a little bit more strength IMO, price very reasonably as well.

I'm in agreement with the rest, the Short Runs rock. I've never had the larger size, only the little one, and they are just great smokes.

I've only had one Core Line, I thought it was great. Less spice which makes it a poor winter smoke for me, but in the Spring and summer they will be great. They're very aggressively priced as well.

I haven't had either of the ELs.

I love when the cheaper sticks in the line-up get the high marks. Nobody in this thread said, "Wait til you try his $15 LE". Yes. I think I'm a new E.P. Carrillo fan.

I love the Short Run (sorry Jerome), Core Line (CG size) and the 2010 EL. Based on what I have heard, there is really only about a one leaf difference between the SR and the Core, and that there is a rumor that a regular production line will be made, based on the Short Run.

Yea the short run got me hooked, his LE 2010 is very good too. I can't say I have had one bad EPC. These are a bit milder than the normal sticks I like but these are especially a great smoke in the morning with a good cup of coffee.

According to Ernie at EPC, the Core line is about 80% the same blend as the Short Run. The other 20% is more similar to the LE 2009, a little milder smoke IMO. Even better news, the LE 2010 (top 2-3 in my book last year) is going to be a mini-line for EPC in the future, priced (in 3 sizes) from $9.50 to $12.50. Adding to the good news, EPC will also release a Connecticut Shade wrapped cigar as a full line, priced from $4.50 to $7.50. Yeah, EPC fans rejoice!!
