Earthquake

Well we just had a decent ground shaker here in San Jose at 8:05pm. Initial magnitude was 5.6 ... but it seemed larger. Lasted about 15-20 seconds. No damage but it certainly got my heart pumping.

Time for a stiff drink ...

We were out on the practice field and had to stop practicing as folks were in a panic. Phone lines were knocked out for about an hour. All of our servers in the office had to be taken offline and restarted. Kind of like and early DST drill.

Thank God, all is well.

One time I was in Tokyo and there was an earthquake and we had to hide under the desks. It was really fun, but it was a little one. I would imagine they would suck if they happened where you live. Glad everything's ok.

I heard about that, I'm glad no significant damage occurred.

We were walking in downtown Los Gatos (about 3 miles from our home in San Jose0, and saw the plate glass windows of the stores rattling violently. We stopped walking and saw the ground rolling beneath our feet.

Still nowhere near as bad as te Loma Prieta quake of '89

You can give me a 5.6 quake anyday over the winters you have in WI anyday. The problem is...You never kow if it's going to be a 5.6 or THE BIG ONE. If they were all 5.6 they would be a tourist attraction. 20 seconds long is a long time to wonder if the end of city is upon you..
