I would think the fact that it's no longer just available as a lancero... more people will try it out. I don't see a lot of lanceros being smoked at the B&M...
I liked the one I had (lance) and am looking forward to picking up a box before they are all gone.
I'm also looking forward to the new ones.

Pete said the old Lancero will still be available and you can still get boxes at several places

I shouldn't say better because I love the original also. Different its not as strong its abreakfast cigar but loaded with flavor and I'm not a huge lancero fan

The only thing they have in common is the name. I smoked one today that was given to me and I enjoyed it, not full to me but tasty. The original is a Cabiguan Maduro Lancero as far as I know. These are different all around, I may grab a box at the event at Holt's next week.

Are you saying the original El Triunfador Lancero is or was a Cabiguan Maduro Lancero now? :dunno:

It's the cabaiguan blend with a maduro (Conn. Broadleaf) wrapper in a lancero format with the El Tri band.

The original is still called the lancero and has the darker broadleaf wrapper. The new one is called a #6 and has the lighter wrapper.

Original is better, but the new line is still damn good

Last night I just smoked the pre-release that New Havana sent out a little while ago with some orders and I really enjoyed it! I am not really a mild-medium cigar fan so I was really pleasantly surprised with the new El T! It wasn't strong which I normally prefer, but like Pete and others have said, there is a ton of good flavor. I can see smoking more of these and it would be a perfect coffee cigar for those that smoke in the morning.
