Hey guys,

Have any of you smoked these as of late? I am curious how they are coming around and whether or not I should keep mine resting or not...

the original release of these need to be smoked now IMO. they are light and airy and don't have that punch that they first ahd when they were younger. still very flavorful but the one i had 2 weeks ago need about half the stick to really start going. but i'm of the opinion that tats are much much better within 2 years of production. thats just me.

Although I have not smoked any, I have heard the same thing about the original ELO's.

I did sample the new release, and they are very strong! Based on the feedback on the originals, I will most likely let the new release rest a year.

New release is very strong! I smoked an Elo3 last night, was hanging out and found myself, what the hell am I smoking! It's still young, but they're still a good smoke. I'm thinking in 6 mo's this will be an excellent smoke!

I agree good smoke but still very young at this point. I did find the construction and burn to be very good.:ccowboy:

I had the ELO 1 a couple of days ago, spicy on the start but mellowed out to some cocoa-dark chocolate nuances around the second third and got quite leathery towards the finish, over all a good smoke for the price tag.

Pretty much par for the course with Tats it seems, buy them and hope in 6 months they are ready to smoke
Is that the case Mac? What about all the recent releases that people are loving now? For the Tats that people say need to sit awhile, is Tat the only brand like that? Most CC smokers I know sit on them for a year or more, same with a lot of Opus smokers...

That being said, I have not tried one of the new ELO yet. I fell in love with the Westie and Eastie 12-18 months after they came out, to me, thats when they were perfect. My ELOs will be aged a year or so until they mellow out a little bit because thats how I prefer them.
