EP Carrillo Short Run Vintage - CI "deal"

Has anyone ever smoked these? CI was running a "special" on them and I snagged a 10 count of the Corona Extra's. I've smoked the New Wave's (excellent) and the Cardinal's (phenomenal) and a couple of others, but have never tried the Short Run Vintage. If you have smoked these before, I'm curious to know what you think of them! Thanks!

If you look a few pages back in the "deals" thread, somebody was posting that these aren't as advertised. I don't recall what exactly was said but go check it out.

In the past year, epc had release two "short runs" as CI exclusives; the cubra sr and the vintage sr. I've tried both--don't ask me why, I'm an epc fanatic. As would be expected, they don't hold a candle to any of the real sr releases. So, yes they're an epc sr, but they're not an epc sr.

I'm on the other end of the spectrum. I loved the Short Run 2010 -- and enjoyed the 11's and 12's. However, I found the CI Vintages to be unsmokeable.

also depends on what price they were. at $3 or so each, they're okay. At $5 or $6, there are much much better cigars out there for that price.

Pretty much this. I lit up one, and quit about 20 minutes in.
I saved the rest to see if they got any better with time. I'll revisit soon, but with very low expectations.

Haven't tried them, but Carrillo is usually good to go.

I picked up a box of the vintages in the robusto format when they first came out, I actually like them better than the 2013's.

I like most of what Ernesto blends, but I do not like these. Personally, there's very few CI exclusives that I'll waste my money on anymore. Genesis Projects are one of the few.

If you get a box, check them when you get them. I got a box of the vintage CGs several months ago and they're ruined. I just opened them today. It's not my storage, I checked everything else. Interestingly enough, that's the second box of epc released in the last year I've had mold issues with. And, knock on wood, the only two mold issues I've had outside if some anjeo still in the cedar.

That really disappoints me. I am an EPC fanatic, love all his stuff, probably my favorite blender. However, the three boxes of various EPCs I've gotten over the past year have all had mold issues. I know that LE 2012 were shipped wet, and that, I think, added to the issues I had with those. Most were salvageable. Some had no issues. BUT for $15 a piece, there best be no problems with them.
